It’s a few ticks past 0200. As I sit down at my desk and try to fathom why I am up so early. Mom tells me from time to time, “It’s the price of growing older. The older you get, the less sleep you need.” Well, I don’t know about that, but one thing I do know is this: I don’t like it.
I’ve never been one for lying in bed. Although I can recall a few instances where I stayed in bed overlong. My father was an early riser, and that translated into “we’re all early risers.” It was a hard lesson to learn, but I’m better for it.
Chunk is on the couch enjoying this early morning quiet, as was I, until a hoot owl perched on a limb outside my house and proceeded to go nuts with his calls. Life is different out here in the sticks. It’s not worse, just different.
As I tap lightly on my keys and yawn, I remember that today is a fresh start. A new beginning such as it is. Another opportunity to make the most of the chances I receive. So do you.
Here in the early morning, seizing the day seems so easy. Prior to the rat race, and the mad rush to beat traffic. Before your co-workers push you off the edge of insanity with their incessant demands. The pre-dawn hours make everything seem so small. So doable.
I pray each of you has a great day. That you achieve your goals with minimal stress, and much elation, that you feel as you are important-because you are. I want to you know I appreciate you following my blog. I hope you find something that brightens your day, encourages you, or makes you chuckle.
Have a great day. Dawn approaches.
