Today…a few thoughts about life…unedited…

I’m tired.

Like holy tomatoes, Batman. The past two weeks were filled with lots of traveling. I put a lot of miles on my vehicles and my body. Furthermore, I put a lot of miles on my mom, because she traveled with me.

Yesterday, I drove to Hattiesburg, picked up a bed, and drove back home. It took about ten hours. When I got home, I kicked off my shoes and fell asleep on the couch. Today, mom and I put up the bed.

I’m tired.

I’ve struggled all day trying to come up with something to write about. Everything seems kind of blah. “I wonder if the readers want to read about the crawfish I ate yesterday?” Nah. They were good, but no one wants to read about that.

My truck did a fantastic job yesterday until the exhaust pipe broke. I sat on the side of the road for about a half hour until I found a way to cut it off. So, there’s that tidbit.

Someone once said where there’s a will, there’s a way. It’s funny how true it is. I didn’t need a bed, I had one. When my sister-in-law offered this one to me and quoted the price, I didn’t hesitate. Even broke down on the side of the road, I found a way to get that bed home.

As tired as I am, if I could apply that kind of tenacity to buying a bed and transporting it home, then by God, I can sit at my computer and write something.

Ambition will get you started, but it’s perseverance that will get you across the finish line.

Speaking of finishing, A Walk in Darkness is finished. I sent it off to two people for them to read and provide feedback. For years, I never finished anything because I didn’t want my work judged. Now, I want to finish things, and I hope one day that my story can help someone else, who struggles with their own internal darkness.

That’s enough rambling for now. Tomorrow, I will continue the scrubbing of The Rainy Ripper. It feels great to finish. Take care.
