I am not sure of what is going on in the world. It seems everyday some new horror is unleashed upon an unsuspecting populace. “Oh, you guys thought murder hornets were horrible? Check out this new thing, a global sandstorm is bound for North America.” There seems to be no end to the trouble we face as a nation.
With the 4th of July swiftly approaching, I am almost fearful to see what new terror will be given life. I know, this is common place for an election year. Still, at some point we should catch a break. You know, a day or even a week without the world crumbling under our feet would be nice. Even if it’s only for a day when we celebrate the independence of the greatest nation on earth.
I am a proud American. I love my country, but our government is completely off the freaking rails. Corruption is not even hidden anymore, those under the influence of said corruption openly flaunt it. As if it is something worthy of emulation. What is truly despicable is that it’s not only politicians that are corrupt, there are corporations, media services and more that reek of said corruption.
For once, I am fearful for the future of my country. Evil is called good, and good is called evil. Every word of the Bible is coming to fruition before my eyes. Praying for my country used to be something that I just gave a passing thought to. Now, the fate of my country is never far from my mind. As a soldier, I wrote an open check up to my death to this beautiful country. I would have gladly given my life for the ideals that make this country great. However, now I can’t do anything but cringe at the remembrance of my gung-ho nature.
Where is the loyalty to our citizens? These same political hacks that put so many lives in harms way, give no loyalty to us. Sure, people can say that we made our choice and it’s on us if we return home broken. I call bull on this type of mentality.
Yes, the military understands we can be called to fight a war at any time. Still, it is upon the politicians to ensure that we go to war for the right reasons. Otherwise, what is the point of having a president, Congress and Senate? At some point, the checks and balance system should come into play. If it doesn’t then we need to fix said system.
Well, this is a waste of words. Still, I feel better getting this off my chest. Thank you all for allowing me to voice my disgust and heartache regarding the sad state of affairs in American society. God bless you all, and God bless America.
