The darkness brings fear, but light burns away the darkness. Light brings peace instead of calamity, love in place of bitterness. Light is the anchor of our joy. This morning, I have been tested. I have failed, but I got back up and tried again. In our daily lives, there are moments that try us, then we must try again. The difference between winning and losing is getting up. When I lifted weights, I would always test myself. Gradually, after many hours of training and lifting progressively heavier weights, I tried for my max lift. I attempted 600 lbs. The first time I tried, I failed. I took a month to build up the reserve strength that I would need to complete the lift. Then I walked in the gym, focused solely on completing my deadlift. Squatting down, I gripped the bar. Driving with my legs, I pulled the weight up smoothly…one…..two…then I let the weights hit the floor. Two complete reps later, I was completely drained. However, I experienced the taste of victory.
The same goes for our lives. We can’t sit on the sidelines and claim that we are living. We must get in the game. There may be moments when life punches us in the mouth, but as Rocky would say: “It’s not how hard you hit! It’s how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward!” I hope that this blog will encourage you if you need it. At the end of the road, don’t have a bellyful of regrets. Adapt and overcome and if you need to, improvise. The only thing holding you back from your dreams is you. Grab life by the horns and show it who’s the boss.
You guys take care and I will chat with you all later.
