As a former soldier, it was drilled into us to be faithful. Even if it meant our death, we should be faithful to our country, our friends, our family and to ourselves. This morning, my mind has been filled with the importance of faithfulness. In a world where loyalty/faithfulness is just a hashtag, it is vital that we remain faithful.
Why is it important to be faithful? There are multiple definitions of the word. Here are a few: reliable, trusted, accurate, true to one’s word or fact, and steady in allegiance. In the darkest periods of our life we should remain steadfast and true. As a Christian, we should remain faithful to God. Our belief system should be built upon the knowledge that God is faithful to us, and in turn we should remain true to our belief of Him.
The Army has an acronym called LDRSHIP. This stands for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. The very first one is paramount to our success. If we can remain loyal in the face of adversity, then we will prove our faithfulness. A relationship can’t last without faithfulness. In every aspect of our lives, faithfulness should be found. We should be reliable, trustworthy, and steady.
That is going to do it for me this morning. You guys have a great day.
