Modern society, the truth, and the need for an angle.

After getting a little heated, I have decided to calm down by writing about the need for an angle in today’s society. It seems that everyone must have an angle when it comes to telling the truth. The media doesn’t give us the facts and allow us to make up our minds. Instead, they bombard us with their opinions and tell us what to think. Politicians use angles in everything they screech about. Regardless of their political affiliation, they all use angles. No one wants to be upfront anymore. Religious leaders, politicians, sportscasters, bloggers, journalist, magazine editors, CEO’s and others all vie for an angle instead of telling the truth outright. We live in a society that puts a spin on everything.

Diluting the truth with opinion, bias or some other machination, results in an outright lie. The truth and the facts do not care about your emotional state. It is a black and white issue. There is the truth and there is the lie. No middle ground is available in this arena. Anything less than the truth is a lie. Why is it so difficult to just tell the truth?

I have an opinion on this (no big surprise there I am sure). As with politicians attempting to sell their next lie, they seek to maintain the virginal image that their political allies have created. Some people seem to think that we are dumb and that we will buy the bill of goods they are attempting to sell us. The list seems to grow longer every day. An angle allows people to spin the lie to where we only see their perspective. Many of us are too lazy to look any further than the spin. It is a sad state of affairs, but that is just the way that it is.

Anyway, I have calmed down enough to go to Goodwill to see what they have for sale. You guys take care and I will chat with you all soon.

Freeman out.
