I am the proud owner of two beautiful rose bushes. Due to the hard work and diligence of my mother, these roses are some of the most magnificent flowers that I have ever seen. These things are massive. They tower over my porch and droop with carmine blooms. Today I decided to prune them for winter. As I was cutting away the excess, I noticed that near the root of the plants that they were a vibrant green. It struck me that even in fall and winter, there is life near the source. Pruning them ensures that they come back stronger and more beautiful in the spring. Sometimes, pain and loss is what it takes to shape us into something stronger and more appealing.
