Michelle Obama, class and the high road.

This morning, I was perusing the headlines of the news when I came upon an article written about Michelle Obama. During an interview, Michelle Obama was asked about Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder and their call for uncivility from their base. Michelle Obama gave a classy response. She said, “Fear is a poor motivator.” She went on to state that she did not want her children to grow up fearing their neighbors, etc. I have never been a fan of the Obama family, however, I will gladly hand this lady mad props for being a voice of reason in the screech for mob rule.

According to some of the articles that I have read recently, Michelle Obama has always advocated the use of the high road, especially when people resort to low-brow tactics. This speaks volumes about her character. I am glad that someone has went on record stating that now is the time for more civility, not less of it.

In this day and age that we live in, civility and common sense seems to have disappeared. Gone are the days when men act like gentlemen, and women appreciated it. Now, if a man attempts to be a gentleman, chances are you will be slapped with the title sexist. Women no longer attempt to be lady-like. This is a sign of weakness according to modern feminist. The days of Sally Homemaker is over! Being classy seems to have taken a leap from a very high cliff and died slowly at the bottom of some rocky ravine.

Every politician in the House and Senate should take note of Michelle Obama’s response to the question that was posed to her. If we ever hope to impact our communities for good, then we must be the change that we want to see. You can’t sow evil and reap good. That is not how this works. Instead of mud-slinging and hurling accusations, we should instead attempt to find the good in people and nurture that. The world would be a much different place if more of us did this.

That is it for this morning. Y’all take care.
