Puppy love

I have a nine week old rat terrier named Chunk. With his little raccoon face, he is a bundle of excitement that seems to be solar powered. This rascal is constantly running, jumping, growling and terrorizing his toys. It seems that it is truly a dog’s life. As I watch him race around my living room, it strikes me that God installed in the little pup a zeal for life.

God never promised that life would be easy. He never promised sunshine and daisies every day, however, he did say that “he is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” In our trials he is our ever present friend. In Psalms the verse says that, “I will look unto the hills from whence cometh my help” This pup may not be able to speak directly with God, but there is no doubt that God has provided him with a special relationship with his Creator.

In our darkest hour, we do not have to walk alone. Life may be a roller coaster, but it was never God’s intention for us to find no joy in living. It is upon us to find a way to find the happiness in life. Joy is not easy to come by, but it is possible through our savior Jesus Christ.
